Volunteering

What you give you get back

Nothing accelerates the learning like taking on a volunteer role.

Get involved, and you will get a lot more out of your NSANZ membership.

Volunteer at a chapter meeting

At each chapter meeting volunteers take on the roles of:

  • Greeting members
  • Introducing and thanking speakers
  • Setting up the banners/sound-systems
  • Looking after a visiting speaker
  • Acting as the meeting organiser
  • Acting as the meeting MC

Volunteer as a mentor or buddy

The best way to learn is to teach someone else. Being a mentor can be very rewarding, and need not be time-consuming.

Volunteer for your Chapter Committee

The Chapter Committee are all volunteers too, elected annually at the Chapter AGM.  Roles include:

  • President
  • Immediate Past President
  • Senior Vice President
  • Junior Vice President
  • Meetings Manager (co-ordinating meetings with the speaker)
  • Newsletter editor
  • Professional Development Director, (organising the Professional Development Series)
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • General committee member helping out when required
  • National executive liaison
  • Volunteer for nomination to the National Executive

Volunteer for Nomination to the National Executive

The National Executive is also a voluntary body, elected annually by members.  Nominations are called for in advance of an AGM, and a postal ballot follows.
The National Executive consists of:

  • President
  • Immediate Past President
  • Senior Vice President
  • Junior Vice President
  • Chapter representatives
  • Treasurer
The national secretary role is a paid position, carried out by Jean Caldwell of www.pa2go.co.nz.
