Nothing accelerates the learning like taking on a volunteer role.
Get involved, and you will get a lot more out of your NSANZ membership.
Volunteer at a chapter meeting
At each chapter meeting volunteers take on the roles of:
- Greeting members
- Introducing and thanking speakers
- Setting up the banners/sound-systems
- Looking after a visiting speaker
- Acting as the meeting organiser
- Acting as the meeting MC
Volunteer as a mentor or buddy
The best way to learn is to teach someone else. Being a mentor can be very rewarding, and need not be time-consuming.
Volunteer for your Chapter Committee
The Chapter Committee are all volunteers too, elected annually at the Chapter AGM. Roles include:
- President
- Immediate Past President
- Senior Vice President
- Junior Vice President
- Meetings Manager (co-ordinating meetings with the speaker)
- Newsletter editor
- Professional Development Director, (organising the Professional Development Series)
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- General committee member helping out when required
- National executive liaison
- Volunteer for nomination to the National Executive
Volunteer for Nomination to the National Executive
The National Executive is also a voluntary body, elected annually by
members. Nominations are called for in advance of an AGM, and a postal
ballot follows.
The National Executive consists of:
- President
- Immediate Past President
- Senior Vice President
- Junior Vice President
- Chapter representatives
- Treasurer
