One of the evaluators is going to be none other than Ngahi Bidois.
What is your worst speaker / presenter nightmare? Imagine being told your slot
is the most important keynote speaking slot of the entire conference. It
will take place during the conference black tie Gala dinner event that will
be attended by delegates and partners as well as the client’s key sponsors
and business associates. You have worked many hours with the conference organiser
in preparation for this keynote and when you enter the room you expect to
see an empty stage and a screen for your presentation.
However what you get is a stage full of instruments for the band with a beautiful
display behind the stage and no screen in sight. Conversations with the sound
guys reveal there is no way they can get a power point there for your presentation
and the band equipment has to stay where it is. What would you do?
Ngahihi o te ra Bidois is the NSANZ 2011 Speaker of the year and this is one
of the ‘incidents’ he will speak about in his presentation. He has spoken in
many venues and countries including Google’s own presentation studio in New
York and he will outline some of the funnier if not very serious situations
he has found himself in. Come along to here how to deal with nightmare situations
so they do not deal to you.
Another evaluator will be Allie Mooney.
Time: 6.00pm sharp
